Awaran: Families Demand Recovery of Sagheer and Iqrar Baloch, Enforcedly Disappeared for Five Months

Quetta: Two young men from Awaran, Sagheer Baloch and his cousin Iqrar Baloch, have been missing since June 11, 2025, after being detained by Pakistani personnel near the Ormara checkpoint. According to family members, even after five months, no information has been provided regarding their whereabouts or condition.

The families stated that officials including the Deputy Commissioner of Awaran, a Brigadier, a Colonel, the local Station House Officer (SHO), and a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) had requested them to postpone their protest and allow ten days for the safe recovery of the youths. However, more than fifteen days have passed since the deadline, with no progress reported.

Speaking to the media, the sister of one of the disappeared youths said, “We are helpless. Two members of our family have been forcibly disappeared. If our brother and cousin are not released, we will resume protests and block the Awaran-to-Karachi road.”

The families have demanded that if there are any charges against their loved ones, they should be presented before a court and dealt with according to the law. “We will accept the court’s decision, but enforced disappearance is a violation of both human and constitutional rights,” the family members said.
