Mastung: The former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, said that Zubair Baloch was never in hiding but always appeared in courts and public forums. “If he was wanted by security forces, he should have been arrested in accordance with the law, not killed,” he stated, condemning the circumstances of the political activist’s death.
Dr. Abdul Malik, who is also the president of the National Party, along with party leaders, visited the residence of Zubair Baloch to offer condolences.
On the occasion, he strongly condemned the raid, firing and killing of Zubair Baloch, the former Chairman of BSO Pajjar and member of the Baloch National Movement (BNM). He said Zubair Baloch was a political activist andn as such, a defender of human rights.
He added that enforced disappearances are unconstitutional and illegal and raising one’s voice against such practices was Zubair Baloch’s duty as a political activist—something that is neither a crime nor against the constitution.
Dr. Abdul Malik recalled that the martyred chairman played a vital role in strengthening student politics on academic and intellectual grounds and noted his close personal and political ties with him.
The former chief minister emphasized that Balochistan should not be viewed solely through a security lens but as a national entity. He warned that the continuation of such flawed policies would only deepen the crisis.
Offering condolences to Zubair Baloch’s family, he assured them that the National Party stands firmly with them in this difficult time.
National Party’s central spokesperson Ali Ahmed Langov, central human rights secretary Chairman Gohram Aslam Baloch and district general secretary Riaz Zehri were also present.
