Islamabad: Families of Forcibly Disappeared Persons’ Sit-In Completes Two Months

The protest sit-in led by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and families of forcibly disappeared persons outside the Islamabad Press Club entered its 60th day on Saturday.

Among the demonstrators are women, children and the elderly, who continue to demand the release of their loved ones despite harsh weather conditions, including rain and scorching sun.

Families participating in the protest expressed disappointment over the silence of both the government and mainstream media, but stressed that their determination remains unshaken.

The protesters vowed to continue their sit-in until their loved ones are released and justice is served. “We appeal to the entire nation, every section of society and every conscientious individual to stand with us and be our voice,” they said.

The families emphasized that enforced disappearances violate both humanity and the Constitution and called for a permanent end to the practice.
