Islamabad: Sit-in of Families of Baloch Missing Persons Enters 43rd Day

In Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, the peaceful sit-in of the families of forcibly disappeared persons from Balochistan, along with the arrest of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders, has entered its 43rd day today.

Despite harsh cold weather, road closures, harassment and mistreatment by authorities, women, elderly mothers and children continue to participate in the protest. Demonstrators say that their resolve has not weakened despite all difficulties.

Even though Baloch families were not granted permission to hold a peaceful gathering in front of the National Press Club, they remain under the open sky demanding justice, the recovery of their loved ones and an end to enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

Participants have made it clear that they will continue the sit-in until their demands are met.
