The spokesperson of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Jeeyand Baloch, issued a statement saying that BLA fighter Sangat Zahid Saleh alias Wahid was martyred during an armed clash with Pakistani forces.
According to the statement, on August 22 in the Talokan area of Tump, BLA fighters were traveling for organizational work when they came under attack by Pakistani forces. A heavy exchange of fire took place in which several Pakistani soldiers were killed and injured, while Sangat Zahid fought bravely until he lost his life.
The spokesperson said that the martyred fighter, Zahid Saleh alias Captain Wahid, son of Saleh Muhammad, belonged to Nazarabad in Tump, Kech. Known among his comrades for his fighting skills, he joined the armed struggle for Baloch national freedom in 2014.
In 2023, Zahid formally became part of the BLA and served on different fronts in Tump, Zamuran and Dasht. “He was a seasoned fighter who dedicated every moment of his life to the homeland,” the statement read.
The BLA concluded by saying that the sacrifice of Sangat Zahid proves that the struggle against occupying forces is not limited to one person but is a collective national determination. “The mission and dreams of the martyrs remain alive, and fighters will continue to give sacrifices to strengthen this struggle. The Baloch nation will never let the blood of its martyrs go in vain and will continue the journey toward freedom.”
