The sit-ins and protest camps in Islamabad and Karachi, demanding the recovery of missing Baloch persons and the release of Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) leaders, have entered their 37th and 17th day respectively.
In front of the National Press Club in Islamabad, protesters – including families of the disappeared – are standing firm despite extreme heat and state pressure. They say they are not ready for any compromise except justice and the recovery of their loved ones. The protesters said: “We have lost our loved ones, but we are not ready to lose our voice. Until our missing sons, brothers and fathers return, we will not leave this place.”
Meanwhile, outside Karachi Press Club, the protest camp has continued for 17 days. The family of Zahid Ali Baloch is leading the protest. Zahid Baloch was forcibly disappeared from Karachi on 17 July 2025. His father, Abdul Hameed Baloch, told the media: “If my son is accused of something, he should be presented before a court. Enforced disappearance is an inhuman and illegal act, which is a serious violation of basic human rights.”
Despite harsh weather, heavy rains and strong winds, protesters say they will not go home until their loved ones are recovered. Women and children participating in the protest camp are also demanding justice from the state.
It is worth noting that this protest movement against the arrest of BYC leaders and enforced disappearances has been continuing for several weeks in different cities of the country.
