In the Sordo area of Panjgoor, unknown armed men raided a house late last night and opened heavy fire, killing four armed men and injuring one.
According to sources, the deceased were identified as Ghulam Sarwar son of Muhammad Noor, Islam and Nizam sons of Ghulam Sarwar residents of Gichk, Sordo, Habibullah son of Shah Muhammad (resident of Gresha, Khuzdar and Ali Ahmed resident of Quetta.
Local sources said the slain individuals were members of a state-backed armed group (Death Squad) allegedly involved in the abduction and extrajudicial killing of several Baloch youth.
So far, no armed organization has claimed responsibility for the incident, though in the past such attacks have often been claimed by Baloch armed separatist groups.
