Quetta: BUITEMS Assistant Professor and His Brother, Enforcedly Disappeared by Pakistani Forces

Dr. Usman Qazi, a PhD holder and Assistant Professor at BUITEMS and his brother Jibran Ahmed, an MPhil Economics student, have been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces.

On the early morning of August 12, 2025, at around 3:00 a.m., personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) raided a residential house in Afnan Town, Quetta and took Dr. Usman Qazi and his younger brother Jibran Ahmed into custody. Both men are residents of Nasirabad, Kech.

During the operation, the forces surrounded the area, sealed the house, and did not allow anyone to come near.

According to PAANK, the human rights department of BNM, they were forcibly taken by the CTD from their home. PAANK has called for their immediate and unconditional release.
