Attacks on civilian homes in Kech, killing a child and injuring three women along with another child, amount to both negligent and deliberate acts by the state that further Baloch loss of life, the spokesperson said.
The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) said that We are deeply disturbed by the news of a hand grenade attack on the home of a civilian, Khuda Dad, in the Balochi Bazaar (Aapsar) in Kech today, August 12, 2025, which injured two women, identified as Sahib Khatoon and Shahida. Such attacks are not new, nor do they believe they will be the last. They said that the BWF has repeatedly observed the deliberate inaction of the state towards incidents that contribute to the ongoing Baloch genocide, an approach that is deeply concerning and unacceptable from a citizen’s standpoint. As a political entity, they strongly reject such state behavior towards the Baloch people and will resist it on every platform.
The spokesperson said that earlier, on August 11, security forces reportedly carried out mortar shelling in the Gomazi, Kech, killing a 12-year-old boy, Mehmood Ghafoor, on the spot. Later that night, security personnel opened indiscriminate fire on civilians in Kolahoo, Tump, injuring a woman and a child. Local residents staged a sit-in protest outside a military camp, but their voices were met with neglect.
According to the spokesperson as representatives of the indigenous Baloch people, the Baloch Women Forum (BWF) believes the state’s interest lies solely in Baloch land, with no regard for Baloch or human lives. This discriminatory approach has always led and will continue to lead, to instability, undermining societal peace and progress. It also raises serious questions about the state and its institutions’ commitment to upholding fundamental human rights.
The spokesperson said that the BWF strongly condemns these actions and demands immediate accountability for all individuals and institutions directly or indirectly involved. They further called for an immediate end to such attacks, which claim innocent lives, and demanded fair compensation and timely medical treatment for all affected civilians.
