Dera Bugti has seen a spate of enforced disappearances, with at least six individuals taken into custody by Pakistani security forces and their whereabouts remaining unknown.
According to reports, on Monday morning security personnel picked up Mochi, son of Mir Muhammad Bugti, from Sui. Local sources claim that his son, Gazu Bugti, had been missing since being taken by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel two weeks earlier. They further allege that FC officials had recently called Mochi, telling him that his son would be released, but upon his arrival in Sui, he too was detained and subsequently disappeared.
On the same day, FC personnel allegedly detained Gola, son of Aslam Khetran, a resident of Dera Bugti city from the Khetran tribe.
Separately, on August 2, Hafeez, son of Khawand Bakhsh Bugti, was reportedly picked up from a hotel in Bugti Colony, Sui, by FC and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officials.
On August 8, Sajjad, also known as Jada Bugti, was detained at the RD-238 bridge area in Sui.
Earlier, on August 3, FC personnel reportedly raided a house in Bugti Colony, Sui and detained Hazara, son of Nozha Bugti.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, a man who had been missing for more than a year was reportedly released in Turbat, the main city of Kech district. Samiullah, son of Tahir Ali and a resident of the Meeri area in Turbat, returned home after over a year in what sources describe as enforced disappearance.
