Islamabad: Sit-In by Families of Enforcedly Disappeared Enters 25th Day

Islamabad: Families of enforcedly disappeared persons and detained leaders from Balochistan continued their sit-in in the federal capital for the 25th consecutive day, demanding the release of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders and an end to enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

Despite extreme heat, police blockades and being denied permission to set up shaded tents, the demonstrators, including elderly women and children, have remained steadfast in their protest. The road leading to Islamabad Press Club remains blocked, while participants allege that authorities are trying to harass and intimidate them instead of addressing their demands.

Protesters said they will continue their demonstration until the leaders are released and enforced disappearances in Balochistan come to an end.
