Islamabad: Sit-in by Families of Missing Persons Enters 14th Day

Islamabad: The protest sit-in led by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and families of forcibly disappeared persons has entered its 14th consecutive day in Islamabad. Demonstrators say they are engaged in a peaceful struggle for the recovery of their loved ones but have yet to see any serious response from the government.

Participants in the protest emphasized that their demands are within the framework of Pakistan’s Constitution and legal system. However, they claim state institutions are not only ignoring these appeals but are also actively trying to suppress their voices.

The protesters called on the government to immediately release BYC leaders who have allegedly been detained without legal grounds. They also demanded a permanent end to enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan by Pakistani Forces on daily basis.

Appealing to human rights organizations, journalists, and civil society, the demonstrators urged broader support for their movement and called for justice and accountability.
