Four individuals were reportedly killed in a single day in Awaran, in separate incidents attributed to Pakistani security forces in the Jhao and Mashkay.
One of the victims was identified as Mazar Baloch, son of Jamal Khan, a resident of Gorkai in Mashkay. According to locals, Mazar was returning home after reporting to a military camp when he was shot dead by members of a death squad allegedly linked to the Pakistani military.
Mazar had previously been forcibly disappeared in 2015 and released after three years. In recent months, he had been regularly summoned to the camp.
In a separate incident in Jhal Jhao, two more youth Nazeer Ahmed, son of Bahram Baloch and Noor Khan, son of Amir Bakhsh were reportedly abducted earlier in the day and later found dead within hours. According to residents, Nazeer was taken from his home in the village of Jalai Kani, while Noor Khan was abducted elsewhere in Jhal Jhao. Both bodies were later discovered dumped in the same area.
Local sources claim these killings were carried out by armed operatives described as part of a state-backed death squad. The incidents were described as extrajudicial executions, taking place shortly after the victims were allegedly subjected to enforced disappearance.
Earlier that morning, the body of another young man was also recovered in Awaran, showing signs of torture, according to local reports.
The Human Rights Department of Baloch National Movement (BNM), Paank, confirmed the incidents, calling them part of a continued campaign of violence, impunity, and state-sponsored repression against the Baloch population.
In a statement, Paank said:
“These killings following enforced disappearances reflect the deepening crisis of human rights in Balochistan. We call on international human rights organizations, global media, and the international community to intervene immediately. The Pakistani government must be pressured to halt this violent campaign, bring those responsible to justice, and ensure the safety and rights of all citizens in Balochistan.”
This marks the fourth such killing in Awaran within a single day, with all victims reported to be young Baloch men.
