Dr. Sabiha Baloch, a prominent leader of the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC), has stated that on Wednesday evening around 7 PM, Pakistan’s federal paramilitary force (FC) raided her house without any legal warrant or prior notice. During the raid, family members were reportedly harassed and threatened.
In a strongly worded statement, Dr. Sabiha condemned the state’s repressive actions and appealed to international human rights organizations for urgent intervention. She revealed that her father had been forcibly disappeared by state forces three months ago, and there has been no information about his whereabouts since.
According to Dr. Sabiha, she is facing constant pressure to disassociate from the Baloch Yekjehti Committee and surrender herself. In her statement, she said:
“My father’s only crime is being my father, and my crime is raising my voice against human rights violations.”
She described the situation as a form of collective punishment, designed to silence the Baloch people through fear and intimidation. Dr. Sabiha accused the state of trying to crush peaceful Baloch resistance through enforced disappearances, false propaganda, and threats.
“We are being labeled as terrorists to justify our erasure,” she said, “but we are defenders of human rights. To speak for truth, justice, and humanity is not a crime.”
She called upon international organizations, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the UN Human Rights Council, the European Union, CIVICUS, ICJ, Reprieve, and Front Line Defenders to take notice and raise their voices against what she termed state-sponsored repression.
