The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has reportedly intensified its armed campaign across Occupied Balochistan under the banner of Operation Baam, targeting personnel affiliated with Pakistan’s security and intelligence agencies, including the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI). According to local sources, dozens of security personnel have been killed in a series of coordinated attacks.
In one of the most notable incidents, nine MI and ISI officials were allegedly executed after being identified during a checkpoint search of passenger buses in the area between Musakhel, Mekhtar, and Khajuri. Baloch militants reportedly stopped the vehicles, identified the intelligence personnel, removed them from the buses and opened fire, killing them on the spot.
Additionally, in Kalat, a bomb attack reportedly targeted security forces, resulting in the deaths of at least seven personnel. The BLF has claimed these attacks as part of its ongoing Operation Bam.
Scale and Intensity of Operation
Sources indicate that over 60 organized attacks have been carried out so far in various districts of Balochistan since the start of Operation Bam. These attacks have involved the use of heavy and modern weaponry, and have inflicted significant casualties and material losses on Pakistani security forces.
While the BLF has yet to release comprehensive details or an official statement outlining the full scope of the operation, reports suggest that the campaign has spread across central, southern and western regions of Balochistan.
The intensity of Operation Bam marks one of the most widespread escalations by the BLF in recent years and appears to reflect a coordinated effort to challenge the state’s intelligence and military presence in the region.
