Quetta : Baloch pro-independence leader and former Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Khalil Baloch, paid tribute to Yousaf Aziz Magsi on his birth anniversary, describing him as a visionary young leader whose intellectual brilliance and unwavering commitment have immortalized him in the collective memory of the Baloch nation.
In his statement, Khalil Baloch said, “Yousaf Aziz Magsi led Baloch national politics out of the dark era of feudal slavery, the tribal chieftain system, and public apathy, and into the light of awareness, struggle, and mass awakening.”
He emphasized that Magsi was not merely a political theorist or a figure of resistance, but also a deeply empathetic and dignified son of Balochistan an advocate for the working class, the oppressed, women, and the marginalized. Above all, he was a reflection of the Baloch national spirit.
Quoting Magsi’s famous words, “If humans do not listen, I will tell my story to the trees and mountains,” Khalil Baloch said, “One can only imagine the agony he endured—an agony born from national subjugation and societal indifference. These were not mere words, but a volcanic expression of pain, a yearning for national freedom, and a testament to his unshakable resolve.”
He further stated that Yousaf Aziz Magsi rejected feudal privileges, noble titles, and tribal arrogance, erasing the label of “Nawabzada” from his name and choosing to live a short but meaningful life simply as a Baloch.
Khalil Baloch concluded “Yousaf Aziz Magsi didn’t merely dream of freedom he carved the paths, gave us ideology, and lit the torch of awareness for future generations. His ideology and commitment remain a powerful source of guidance and inspiration for us today” .
