If Pakistan’s Nuclear Weapons Are Not Seized, Tomorrow They Could Detonate Bombs on Baloch Cities. BSO Azad

In a statement, Azad Baloch, spokesperson of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Azad, said that the state’s aggression and destructive policies against the Baloch nation are not new. These began 27 years ago when Pakistan became a nuclear state and chose to conduct nuclear tests on Baloch populations to instill fear and terror in their hearts.

May 28 is one of the darkest days in Balochistan’s history, when the state turned Chaghi into a heap of ashes to fulfill its sinister aims. The effects of these tests are still felt strongly in Balochistan, especially in Chaghi. Conducting nuclear tests in the midst of human settlements in Chaghi violated all international laws and was a demonstration of power to poison the lives of Baloch people and push Balochistan further into darkness.

He said nuclear weapons were created purely for genocide. Apart from radiotherapy, any use of nuclear programs is deadly for humanity. Radioactive materials continuously emit radiation harmful to all living beings. The ongoing exposure damages the biological structure of living organisms animals, plants, and humans alike. Not only living things but even non-living things are affected by radiation, altering climate and soil composition.

On May 28, 1998, nuclear explosions were conducted without informing local populations in Raskoh and Kharan, turning Raskoh’s mountains and Kharan’s deserts into ashes. Hundreds of people were affected, and livestock was not spared either. Chaghi’s land turned barren and dry, with cancer, thalassemia, and other fatal diseases becoming rampant. The death rate rose alarmingly, yet the state has refused to acknowledge the harmful effects of these tests on human populations or provide basic facilities like hospitals. This clearly shows the state’s full commitment to Baloch genocide.

The spokesperson further said the state is ready to use all kinds of oppression and brutal tactics to turn Balochistan into its colony. The genocide that began with the nuclear tests of May 28 has now spread its branches throughout Balochistan. There is no limit to the enemy’s cruelty. Innocent people are routinely extrajudicially killed, mutilated bodies are dumped, populations are being emptied by military brutality, abductions are rampant, and the state has launched a severe campaign of genocide against the Baloch nation.

The Baloch people must unite in resistance against this oppression and brutality to ensure their survival and freedom. Meanwhile, the world must take serious notice and take strong actions against Pakistan, or else these very explosions could be carried out on Baloch civilian populations tomorrow.
