11 Years of Silence: Mother of Missing Baloch Poet Syed Hasil Khan Hasrat Passes Without Reunion

The mother of prominent Balochi-language poet and long-time Baloch National Movement (BNM) member Syed Hasil Khan Hasrat, who has been forcibly disappeared for the past 11 years, has passed away.

Syed Hasil Khan Hasrat, son of Abdul Rahman and a resident of Mullah Gazi in the Jhao area, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on February 19, 2014, after being taken into custody. He remains missing to this day.

His mother, Bibi Zulekha, spent 11 long years waiting for her son’s return, clinging to hope until she ultimately passed away, her eyes never seeing her beloved son again.

It is worth noting that Hasil Khan Hasrat was among 50 individuals, including Daulat Khan (son of Abdul Kareem), who were forcibly disappeared at the same time. While most of them have since been released, Hasil Khan Hasrat and Daulat Khan remain missing.
