Balochistan: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks targeting state infrastructure and security forces in the province, marking an escalation in the group’s ongoing insurgency against Pakistani authorities.
In a statement released to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that BLF fighters set fire to a Zong mobile tower installed for “espionage purposes” along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) road in Chot Bazaar, Dasht. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 PM, where the mobile tower was first attacked with gunfire and subsequently torched, causing extensive damage to its equipment.
According to the BLF, such infrastructure is being used by the Pakistani state for surveillance under the guise of development and communication, particularly along key CPEC routes.
In a separate operation on May 15, 2025, around 6:30 PM, BLF fighters surrounded and seized control of a Levies checkpost located at Harnbu Charhai, in the Nal area along the Gwadar–National Highway (N-25) link. The spokesperson stated that all official weaponry and government equipment at the site were confiscated and taken away by the group.
Significantly, the BLF emphasized that no harm was inflicted upon the Levies personnel present at the checkpost, citing humanitarian considerations and shared ethnic identity.
Major Gwahram Baloch reaffirmed the BLF’s commitment to continue targeting what he described as the “machinery of the occupying Pakistani state” until the independence of Balochistan is achieved.
