Quetta: Mama Qadeer Baloch, Vice Chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) and a global symbol in the struggle for the recovery of the forcibly disappeared, has been urgently hospitalized after his health suddenly deteriorated. According to reports, his condition is critical and he is currently on oxygen support under medical supervision.
VBMP released a short video on its official Facebook page showing Mama Qadeer lying on a hospital bed with an oxygen mask on.
It is worth noting that Mama Qadeer Baloch has been running a hunger strike camp for more than a decade in support of missing persons. His long-standing practice of going without food from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily has severely impacted his health.
Mama Qadeer is known not only as a resolute activist but also as a grieving father who endured the enforced disappearance and subsequent custodial killing of his son, Jalil Reki Baloch. His relentless struggle has made him a respected and powerful voice for human rights on the global stage.
Human rights groups, activists, and sympathizers have expressed deep concern over his current condition and have appealed for prayers for his swift recovery.
