Balochistan, May 12, 2025 — The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated actions across multiple regions in Balochistan, including Barkhan, Kachhi, Gresha, and Awaran.
According to a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the operations were carried out in response to what the group described as the ongoing occupation and exploitation of Balochistan by Pakistani state institutions, particularly the military and intelligence agencies.
Blockade on Barkhan-Punjab Highway
He Said that, Between 7 PM and 11 PM, BLF fighters set up a blockade at Rat Sham, located along the highway connecting Barkhan to Punjab. During the checkpoint operation, the BLF claimed to have identified numerous Punjabi travelers but allowed them to continue after verifying that no military or intelligence personnel were among them.
The BLF emphasized that their hostility is not directed at ordinary Punjabis but toward individuals affiliated with Pakistani military and intelligence agencies, who they accuse of playing key roles in the “forced occupation of Balochistan” and the “implementation of genocidal policies” against the Baloch people.
Attack on Levies Checkpoint in Kachhi
Earlier that evening around 6 PM, BLF fighters reportedly surrounded a Levies checkpoint in the Kanado area of Kachhi, seizing all government-issued weapons. The Levies personnel were released unharmed.
Deadly Assault in Awaran’s Kolwah Region
In a major confrontation at approximately 2 PM in the Gishang area of Kolwah, Awaran, BLF fighters launched a direct attack on an alleged death squad operating under the protection of the Pakistani military. A firefight erupted, and Pakistani army forces reportedly arrived to assist the group. The BLF claimed the killing of five operatives, including a man identified as Nadir, son of Qasim, a resident of Parwar, Mashkay. According to the statement, BLF fighters safely withdrew following the operation.
The Spokesperson further warned local residents to distance themselves from Aurangzeb Bezinjo, whom they labeled a collaborator and recruiter for state-sponsored militias. The BLF accused him of luring youth into paramilitary activities under the guise of employment and incentives.
Confiscation of Weapons in Gresha
On the same evening, BLF fighters reportedly intercepted Levies personnel on patrol in Gresha, Goni. After detaining them briefly, the fighters confiscated their weapons and then released the personnel.
The BLF has officially claimed responsibility for all the above operations and reiterated its commitment to targeting entities it deems complicit in the military occupation and resource exploitation of Balochistan.
