Balochistan – The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for three separate attacks targeting Pakistani security forces in Turbat, Malar, and Nondara areas of Balochistan on May 11.
In a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, he said that at 8:40 PM on May 11, BLF fighters attacked a Pakistan Navy camp in the central city of Turbat, district Kech. The fighters first targeted personnel standing at the security post outside the camp, killing one on the spot. This was followed by multiple grenade launcher attacks from three directions aimed at various targets inside the Navy facility, reportedly causing significant damage.
The spokesperson added that during the attack, the Navy deployed surveillance drones, which were also targeted by the BLF fighters. Pakistani forces attempted to encircle the attackers, but the guerrilla-trained fighters managed to retreat safely to their secure hideouts. Following the attack, security forces and police launched widespread searches, setting up blockades and allegedly harassing local residents.
Earlier the same evening around 6:00 PM, BLF fighters launched another attack on a military checkpost in Nondara, Jhao area of Kech, using RPGs and other modern weapons. In retaliation, the Pakistani forces reportedly fired mortar shells at nearby civilian areas, causing panic among the local population.
In a third operation, BLF fighters targeted a military checkpost in the Machhi area of Malar, Awaran. According to the BLF, a soldier was killed on the spot by sniper fire.
Major Gwahram Baloch stated that the Balochistan Liberation Front claims responsibility for all three operations and reaffirmed its commitment to continue the armed struggle until the “liberation of Balochistan and the withdrawal of occupying forces.”
