Quetta: Civil Hospital Morgue Overflows with Bodies, BNM Urges Global Action

Quetta, Balochistan. The morgue at Civil Hospital Quetta has reportedly reached capacity after the Pakistan Army delivered a large number of bodies, according to credible sources. At least fifty corpses, allegedly of individuals who were forcibly disappeared and later killed in custody, have been brought to the facility.

Witnesses report that the bodies bear signs of gunshot wounds and, due to lack of space, have been piled atop one another, a situation human rights observers have described as deeply disturbing and inhumane.

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has issued an urgent appeal to international human rights organizations to intervene. The group is calling for immediate identification of the deceased and demands that the Pakistani government return the bodies to their families for proper and dignified burial in accordance with cultural and religious customs.

“This mass killing and mistreatment of the dead is not only a violation of human rights but also a deliberate message of terror to the Baloch people,” a BNM spokesperson stated. “The international community must not remain silent.”

This development follows a recent incident in Kech district, where the Pakistan Army reportedly withheld the bodies of Baloch fighters after a deadly clash. Despite protests by grieving families, the bodies were never returned.

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) calls on international human rights organizations to take urgent action to identify these bodies and to pressure the Pakistani government to treat the dead with dignity. Families must be allowed to bury their loved ones according to their religious and cultural traditions.

The spokesperson said that, This incident is a stark reflection of escalating human rights abuses. Just days ago, after the martyrdom of Baloch Freedom Fighters in Kech district, their bodies were also seized by the Pakistan Army. Despite public protests by the families, the bodies were not returned—further exposing the state’s inhumane and oppressive practices. Enforced disappearances and custodial killings will not suppress the Baloch national liberation movement.

BNM further alleged that the Pakistani Army’s escalating tensions with India and the spread of war hysteria in Punjab are being used as a smokescreen to justify intensified military operations in Balochistan.

“It is increasingly clear that the target of this aggression is not a foreign enemy but the Baloch nation,” the statement concluded.
