Kalat, May 2: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for an armed attack in the Mungochar area of Kalat, which resulted in the killing of four private guards associated with Zia Langove, a figure the group has accused of acting on behalf of Pakistani military and intelligence agencies.
According to a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, the attack was carried out on May 2 as part of the group’s ongoing campaign against what it describes as “national criminals” and collaborators involved in the Baloch genocide and anti-movement activities.
The BLA noted that on March 21, one of Zia Langove’s private guards had been captured in the Malangzai area of Mungochar. He was later released with a warning. Despite the caution, the group alleges that Zia Langove continued his activities in collaboration with the Pakistani state, prompting Thursday’s action.
In its statement, the BLA reiterated that Zia Langove is considered a national enemy and warned residents of Mungochar, as well as local police and Levies forces, against offering him protection. “Anyone who protects Zia Langove will be held accountable for the consequences,” the statement read.
The group emphasized that its operations are part of a broader struggle for Baloch national rights and independence.
