Mastung: Military Raids Spark Protests After Five Forcibly Disappeared

Mastung, Balochistan — A military operation in the Spilinji area by Pakistani forces has ignited widespread protests against home raids, arbitrary arrests, and enforced disappearances.

Local sources reported that personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC) detained three shopkeepers and two farmers, all of whom have since gone missing. Two of the abductees have been identified as Younus, son of Basham, and Bilal, son of Sher Ahmed. Protesters are calling for the immediate release and safe return of all forcibly disappeared individuals.

On Sunday, a large crowd began marching towards the local FC camp to express their outrage.

Demonstrators accused the Pakistani forces of routinely violating the sanctity of homes through repeated raids. They further alleged that harassment, unlawful detentions, and the torture of detainees inside FC camps have become common practices.

Protesters warned that if the authorities fail to address their grievances, they would be left with no choice but to intensify and expand their protest movement.
