The central spokesperson of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has stated that BYC organizer Dr. Mahrang Baloch, central leaders Shaji Baloch and Bibarg Baloch, along with activists Gulzadi Baloch and Beebow Baloch, have begun a hunger strike in their prison cells.
The spokesperson said that all of them are peaceful political activists who have been imprisoned solely for raising their voices against enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and the daily violence faced by the Baloch people. Their only “crime” is engaging in a peaceful struggle in an environment dominated by state terror and oppression.
According to the spokesperson, The state continues its tyranny with full force: fake FIRs, illegal arrests, baton charges, firing on peaceful protesters, and now violence inside prisons.
They stated that in protest against this brutality, our imprisoned leadership has taken the extreme step of going on a hunger strike. Their health and lives are at serious risk and if any harm comes to them, the state of Pakistan will be held fully responsible.
In conclusion, The spokesperson appealed to the Baloch nation, human rights defenders, and people of conscience around the world to stand in solidarity. This is not just about a movement it is a fight for our survival, our dignity, and our right to exist.
