The Human Rights Organization of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Paank, in a statement, strongly condemned the violent abduction of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) activist Beebow Baloch, who was already in custody in Quetta’s Huda Jail, at the hands of the heavy forces of the Counter Terrorism Department.
According to eyewitness reports, Beebow Baloch was beaten, assaulted, and forcibly dragged out of jail before being taken to an unknown location. It is still unknown where she is, and her safety is a serious concern.
The statement emphasized that this is not an isolated incident but a clear manifestation of organized state oppression aimed at crushing peaceful resistance in Balochistan. Targeting female activists with brutality represents a disturbing escalation in the state’s ongoing campaign of enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, and violence. We hold the state and its security agencies fully responsible for the safety and well-being of Beebow Baloch. Inhumane treatment of political prisoners must end.
Paank demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Beebow Baloch and the clarification of her current whereabouts and legal status.
The statement further urged international human rights organizations to take immediate notice of the harassment, violence, and enforced disappearances of political activists, especially women, and to pressure the Pakistani state to fulfill its human rights obligations. Silencing dissent through violence is a violation of both national and international law. The Baloch people cannot be silenced through fear.
