In a statement released to the media, Major Gwahram Baloch, spokesperson for the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), claimed responsibility for the attack. He stated that at 10:40 PM on the night of April 9, based on intelligence information, fighters from the BLF’s Qurban Unit carried out a deadly assault on a police mobile. As a result, Sub-Inspector Abdul Wali Tanoli and two other personnel were killed on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries.
He added that the fighters also confiscated the weapons of two of the slain personnel. According to him, the Quetta police have recently been involved in abduction-like arrests of Baloch women and children, acts of torture and the extrajudicial killings of unarmed Baloch youth.
“Today, through the media, the BLF announces that Baloch-opposing elements within the police will now be treated the same as the occupying Pakistani army. Based on intelligence, attacks against them will continue with increased intensity,”.
He said “We will avenge the atrocities and massacres inflicted on the Baloch nation through the struggle for freedom. The enemy forces will receive a strong response on every front. Our mission is Baloch national liberation, and this struggle will continue until the Baloch nation is free.”
The Balochistan Liberation Front accepts responsibility for this attack and reaffirms that occupying forces, military installations, and enemy collaborators will continue to be targeted until the liberation of Balochistan.
