Balochistan remains engulfed in protests, while the government continues its crackdown on demonstrators, including mass arrests and internet shutdowns.
According to the central call of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), a protest was held today, March 27, 2025, in Uthal, Balochistan, against the arrest of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other activists.
Similar protests took place across various regions of Balochistan on March 26, 2025, where people raised their voices against state repression.
At today’s demonstration in Uthal, participants held banners and placards denouncing enforced disappearances, extrajudicial arrests, and state-sponsored violence. Protest leaders demanded the immediate release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other activists while strongly condemning human rights violations in Balochistan.
As part of the ongoing protest campaign, another demonstration is scheduled to be held tomorrow, March 28, 2025, in Kathor, Malir. The BYC has urged people from all walks of life to join the protest and show their solidarity.

Candlelight Vigil in Turbat to Honor the Martyrs of Quetta
In Turbat, the BYC Kech organized a silent candlelight vigil at Shaheed Fida Chowk on Thursday night to honor the martyrs of Quetta. Candles were lit in memory of those killed by police gunfire during protests in Quetta.
BYC Kech leaders paid tribute to the Baloch youth who lost their lives and placed candles in front of their portraits. They reiterated that BYC activists would continue to struggle for the cause for which these martyrs sacrificed their lives.
The leaders emphasized that the arrests of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and the violent treatment of Sammi Deen Baloch would not weaken BYC’s peaceful political struggle. Instead, they vowed to turn these arrests into a source of political strength and intensify their movement.
They further urged international human rights organizations to raise their voices for the release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Sammi Deen Baloch, Biboo Baloch, and other BYC leaders. They stressed that these activists were detained and subjected to violence simply for advocating Baloch national rights.

Protests in Quetta Met with Crackdown; Arrests Continue
According to a statement from the BYC Shaal Zone, the organization had called for a protest at 11 AM, demanding the release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bibgar Baloch, Sammi Baloch, and other detained activists. However, the state once again proved its intolerance towards peaceful protests.
Despite obtaining permission from the Deputy Commissioner of Quetta to hold the demonstration in front of the Press Club, authorities sealed off the area. Heavily armed police forces surrounded the site, restricted access, and arrested those attempting to gather.
“This is not an isolated incident,” the BYC stated. “In recent days, the state has unleashed a reign of terror across Balochistan—mass arrests, killings, baton charges, and the brutal harassment of women.”
“But no matter how ruthless this crackdown becomes, our resistance will not be crushed. The struggle for justice continues, and we call upon every Baloch to rise if not now, then when? Step out. Speak up. Resist.”
