The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has strongly condemned the ongoing crackdown by state law enforcement agencies on Baloch activists, intellectuals and civilians. In a statement released to the media, the BWF highlighted the increasing repression, including illegal arrests, raids and harassment of Baloch individuals, regardless of gender or age.
They stated that the state’s notorious institutions are relentlessly working to suppress the peaceful Baloch movement for human rights. They cited the illegal detention of Saeeda Baloch and other Baloch women from Civil Hospital, as well as today’s early morning raid on the home of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) central member Bebagr Baloch, where he and his younger brother, Dr. Hammal Zehri, a PhD holder, were forcibly disappeared. According to BWF, these actions not only violate constitutional rights but also expose the state’s intent to silence Baloch voices.
Furthermore, they reported that security forces have been raiding student hostels and homes, conducting late-night identity checks, and subjecting students to harassment. Last night, Dr. Ilyas Baloch, the Vice Principal of Bolan Medical College, and his family were harassed in a raid, after which he and his son were forcibly disappeared and taken to an undisclosed location. The BWF emphasized that even respected professionals are not safe under the state’s oppressive policies, which will only lead to increased unrest and instability in society.
The BWF condemned these unlawful crackdowns in the strongest terms and called for the immediate release of all forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals. They urged authorities to stop these unconstitutional actions, warning that such brutality will only further fuel resistance among the Baloch people.
