QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Claims Control of Two Pakistani Army Camps in Quetta, Says 14 Personnel Killed, Weapons Seized
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) said its fighters, in a coordinated and organized operation, launched simultaneous attacks on two main Pakistani military camps in the outskirts of Quetta, killing 14 personnel on the spot and gaining full control of both camps, according to a statement issued to media by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch.
The group said that after the operation, its fighters fully encircled both camps, seized the weapons stored there and confiscated large quantities of modern military weapons, ammunition, communications equipment and other military supplies, transporting them to a safe location.
The spokesperson said that at around 6 pm the previous evening, BLA fighters launched simultaneous, intense attacks on Pakistani military posts at two locations adjoining Quetta city, Wali Tangi and Spin Karez. During the operation, the group said its “Fatah Squad” advanced and struck the army’s positions, forcing them to retreat, while providing operational and field support to other units for the final advance.
The BLA said its fighters encircled the enemy at the Wali Tangi front, killed nine personnel and gained full control of the post, while at Spin Karez, the group said a separate unit advanced, killed five personnel, broke through the defensive lines and established control of that post as well.
The BLA further said its “Fatah Squad” vanguard unit demonstrated a high level of skill, discipline and courage during the operation and successfully brought the operation to completion.
The group said two of its fighters (Sarmachars) identified as Mir Alam Kiazai, alias Salman and Noor Ahmed Sumalani, alias Nautak, were Martyred during the operation. The BLA paid tribute to the two fighters and said it remains committed to continuing what it called their mission.
