QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) and Balocistan Liberation Front (BLF) have separately claimed responsibility for a series of operations in Lasbela, Jiwani, Kharan, Kech, Mashkel and Kachhi, including an attack on a Pakistani military convoy, the killing of four individuals alleged to be linked to military intelligence, the destruction of equipment at a lithium exploration site, and road blockades in Kachhi.
In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s Fateh Squad had targeted a convoy of the Pakistani military’s 15 FF Bomb Disposal Party in the Kashari area of Wallapat, Lasbela, at around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
According to the statement, the attack began with an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeting a military vehicle, followed by direct gunfire. The BLA claimed that two military vehicles were completely destroyed and two others were severely damaged.
The group further claimed that nine military personnel were killed and more than 11 wounded, including members of the Light Engineering Battalion and 15 FF. Pakistani officials, however, confirmed the attack but said four security personnel, including a Naib Subedar and two Levies personnel, had been killed, while seven others, including a civilian, were injured.
The BLA also claimed that its members carried out an intelligence-based operation in Jiwani, killing four individuals whom it said were associated with the Pakistani military and Military Intelligence (MI). The group identified the deceased as Ghulam Mustafa, Sanam Masih, Kanwal Shehzad and Danish Iqbal and alleged that they were engaged in intelligence activities while working with the National Logistics Corporation (NLC).
In a separate development, the BLA said its Fighters took control of a lithium exploration site in Mashkel and set fire to four drilling machines and five vehicles. The group claimed that company employees detained during the operation were later released after being issued a warning.
The organisation used the statement to reiterate its opposition to lithium exploration and mining projects in Balochistan, warning local and international companies against participating in such ventures. The BLA stated that it would consider projects related to lithium extraction and exploration as potential targets under what it described as its strategy of “economic blockade”.
Meanwhile, Baloch Republican Guards spokesperson Dostain Baloch said BRG fighters had established road blockades and conducted snap-checking operations in various parts of Kachhi district on Sunday.
According to the statement, vehicles were searched at multiple locations and BRG members conducted patrols in the area. The group said it had not encountered any state personnel during the operations and claimed responsibility for the activities.
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility Monday for seven attacks on Pakistani security forces carried out between September 1 and September 11, according to a statement from the group’s spokesperson, Major Gwahram Baloch.
According to the group’s spokesperson, the deadliest incident occurred September 10 near Yakmuch in Kharan district, where fighters said they ambushed an army convoy traveling in civilian-style vehicles, killing six soldiers and wounding several others.
The BLF statement said the group has repeatedly warned local transporters against allowing their vehicles to be used to move military personnel or supplies and that any transporter who does so bears responsibility for resulting harm to life or property. The group said the army subsequently attempted to encircle its fighters in a nearby desert area but was repelled and forced to retreat with further losses.
The BLF also described two checkpoint operations that it said were aimed at asserting the group’s presence rather than targeting civilians. On September 11, fighters reportedly set up a checkpoint on the main highway in the Koh Daghar area of Mand, searching passing vehicles for a set period before withdrawing. On the same day, the group said it conducted a similar search operation on the highway between Nasirabad and Nodiz in Kech district.
The BLF said that after its fighters withdrew from the Nasirabad-Nodiz checkpoint, an army convoy and quadcopter drones arrived at the site and fired into the air, which the group characterized as harassment of local civilians.
A third checkpoint operation was reported September 9 in Turbat’s Khairabad area. The group said fighters briefly detained and searched vehicles, including one belonging to the Assistant Commissioner of Tump.
According to the BLF, the official was not present in the vehicle that was stopped and escaped, but his security detail’s official weapons were seized. The group said an army quadcopter attempted an aerial strike afterward but was repelled.
The BLF further claimed two attacks on military camps on September 10: one using heavy and automatic weapons against a camp in the Del Kick area of Zamuran, and another against a camp in the Rodbun area of Tump, which the group said began with grenade-launcher fire before fighters engaged the camp’s defensive positions with additional weapons. In both cases, the BLF asserted “heavy losses of life and property” for Pakistani forces without providing figures or evidence.
BLA, BLF and BRG stated that such operations would continue until what they described as the liberation of Balochistan.
