Pro Vice Chancellor Following Javed Iqbal’s Path, Leading University Toward Corruption and Harassment: BSO Pajjar

BSO

QUETTA: The Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Pajjar has accused the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Balochistan of corruption, nepotism and administrative mismanagement, saying that the institution is being driven towards further decline.

In a statement, the organization’s Central Senior Vice Chairman, Babul Malik Baloch, claimed that the current Pro Vice Chancellor is following the path of former Vice Chancellor Javed Iqbal, who has previously faced allegations related to harassment and corruption.

The statement said that the Pro Vice Chancellor is holding multiple administrative positions simultaneously and is using this authority to promote favoritism and financial misconduct. It further claimed that the university, already facing a financial crisis, is placing the burden on employees and students through salary cuts and significant increases in fees, making it difficult for many students to continue their education.

The organization also said that individuals associated with the former administration are being re-established within the university and accused certain officials of involvement in financial irregularities related to tenders, campus facilities and other resources.

The spokesperson stated that such practices are negatively affecting both students and staff, contributing to increased mental stress and weakening the institution.

The Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Pajjar called on the Governor of Balochistan and relevant authorities to form an inquiry committee to investigate the corruption and nepotism. The group also demanded accountability regarding multiple administrative roles held by the Pro Vice Chancellor.

The statement concluded with a warning that the organization would launch a protest movement if action is not taken, vowing to continue its struggle for transparency and reforms at the university.
