QUETTA: Internet services and train operations have been suspended across Balochistan, including Quetta, Nushki, Kharaan, Dalbandin, Mastung, Kalat, Sibi, Khuzdar and other regions, amid heightened security measures.
According to the Ministry of Interior Balochistan, the suspension of internet services was carried out due to security concerns. However, the move has been widely criticized by political and social circles, who argue that such measures disrupt daily life and restrict access to information.
On the occasion of March 23, authorities also suspended train services across parts of Balochistan, further impacting transportation and mobility for residents.
In addition, a notification issued by the Balochistan Colleges Higher and Technical Education Department confirmed that the closure of educational institutions has been extended until March 31, 2026. The notification applies to public and private universities, degree colleges, intermediate institutions, polytechnic institutes, BRCs, and cadet colleges across Balochistan.
The extension follows an earlier order regarding the suspension of academic activities and reflects ongoing concerns over the security situation in Balochistan.
The combined shutdown of internet services, suspension of train operations, and continued closure of educational institutions have raised concerns among residents, students, and observers about the broader impact on education, communication, and daily life in Balochistan.
