QUETTA: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned baseless and politically motivated allegations against the organization and its central leader Dr. Sabiha Baloch, calling for transparency and accountability from the authorities.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee said that BYC is a peaceful political movement that has consistently raised its voice for human rights and justice in Balochistan.
According to the statement, state institutions are resorting to propaganda campaigns and staged press conferences to divert attention from real issues. The spokesperson referred to a recent press conference addressed by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and the Inspector General of Police, in which a woman identified as Farzana Zahri was presented before the media.
The organization stated that Farzana Zahri had been forcibly disappeared from Khuzdar in December 2025 and remained missing for more than three months. It said that after being held incommunicado, she was made to give a statement against BYC under pressure.
The spokesperson raised serious legal and constitutional questions regarding the case, asking where Farzana Zahri had been kept during this period? why she was not produced before a court and why she was held outside any legal detention framework?. The statement added that any testimony obtained under such circumstances cannot be considered credible.
The BYC further stated that these actions appear to be an attempt to justify what it called the unlawful arrests of its leadership and to discredit a peaceful political movement. It maintained that no concrete evidence has been presented against Dr. Sabiha Baloch or the organization.
The committee demanded that Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and relevant authorities present evidence supporting their allegations or issue a public apology.
Reaffirming its stance, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee said it will continue its peaceful struggle despite pressure and harassment, and will keep raising its voice against human rights violations in Balochistan.
