QUETTA: Leaders of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, along with Sibghatullah Shah Ji, Beebow Baloch, Gulzadi Baloch, and Bebarg Baloch, have written to the Balochistan Bar Council requesting that their ongoing cases be transferred to another court.

In the letter, the detained leaders stated that they have been in custody for nearly a year and are facing trials in multiple cases. They claimed that during hearings at the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Quetta, they have experienced bias and unfair treatment from the court, which they say violates basic human rights and principles of a fair trial.

The letter notes that on February 7, 2026, the leaders formally recorded their concerns in court, expressing a lack of confidence in the presiding judge. They said that certain remarks and orders by the court have completely eroded their trust, raising fears that a transparent and impartial trial is not possible in the current court.

They further stated that their objections regarding bias and lack of confidence were not properly forwarded to a higher court through legal procedures, as should have been done.

The BYC leaders appealed to the Balochistan Bar Council to intervene and request the High Court to transfer their cases to a neutral court to ensure a fair trial. They emphasized that the judiciary is a key pillar of the state and that marginalized groups have high expectations of justice, which should not be further delayed.
