SINDH: The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) has condemned the enforced disappearance of one of its leaders and an activist, calling it a serious violation of human rights.
In a press release issued on March 7, JSFM chairman Sohail Abro said that Saeed Tiyono, president of the organization’s Jamshoro chapter, was abducted on March 5 along with activist Sabir Abro.
According to the statement, JSFM accused Pakistani state agencies of being responsible for the disappearance, describing the incident as “state brutality” and “state terrorism.” The group said Tiyono had been advocating for the rights of the people of Sindh and raising his voice against the exploitation of the Sindh’s resources, as well as campaigning for the release of nationalist activists who the organization says have been forcibly disappeared.
The statement was jointly endorsed by several members of the JSFM leadership, including Zubair Sindhi, Amar Azadi, Farhan Sindhi, Hafeez Deshi, Marak Sindhu, Hosho Sindhi, Mansoor Ahmed Hub, Muhammad Osama Soomro and Tahir Khan.
JSFM warned that if the two individuals are not immediately released, the organization will launch a protest campaign, including the possible blockade of the Jamshoro National Highway.
The organization also appealed to the international community and human rights groups, including the United Nations, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, as well as the Parliament of the United Kingdom and the Government of the United Kingdom, to take notice of what it described as ongoing enforced disappearances and human rights violations in Sindh and Balochistan.
