
QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks targeting Pakistani security forces in Awaran, Tump, Ormara and Mashkay, Saying that at least 24 personnel were killed and several others wounded.
According to a statement issued by the group, BLF fighters targeted a pickup vehicle of a military convoy using an improvised explosive device (IED) near Ghulam Muhammad Bazaar in the Pirandar area of Awaran at around 4:00 PM. The group claimed that 12 personnel were killed in the attack and that the vehicle was completely destroyed.
The BLF also reported a separate attack in the Nizarabad area of Tump at around 12:00 noon, where its fighters targeted Pakistani forces operating covert checkpoints. The group claimed that four personnel were killed and two wounded. The statement said Pakistani forces later deployed ground and air support, including drones, but the attackers withdrew safely.
In another incident, the BLF said its fighters established a temporary roadblock on the Coastal Highway at Kowari, between Ormara and Pasni, where they reportedly attacked and briefly captured a nearby police post, seizing weapons and equipment. The group further claimed that a Frontier Corps (FC) convoy responding to the incident was ambushed, resulting in the destruction of a vehicle and the killing of six personnel. During a subsequent pursuit, the BLF said that two more personnel were killed and several wounded.
The group also claimed that three Kalashnikov rifles and other military equipment were seized during the operation.
Additionally, the BLF stated that its fighters targeted a Pakistani military checkpoint in the Malesh Band area of Mashkay at around 5:00 PM, further casualties among security forces.
In a statement, Major Gwahram Baloch, spokesperson for the Balochistan Liberation Front, said the group accepts responsibility for the attacks and reiterated that operations against Pakistani forces would continue.
