Quetta: On the occasion of the fifth death anniversary of Banuk Karima, the Baloch Women Forum organized a memorial event in Quetta. The program was conducted in two parts: the first segment featured national Anthem, a documentary and the launch of the Forum’s first book, “Barmsh”, while the second part included an art exhibition and book stalls.
The event began with a two-minute silence in memory of Mama Qadeer Baloch and other martyred Baloch youth.
A documentary titled “Karima: The Lioness of Balochistan” was also screened, highlighting Banuk Karima’s political and resistance struggle.
Dr. Shale Baloch, founder and chairperson of the Baloch Women Forum, addressed the gathering, stating that holding the program in such challenging times where even small gatherings face restrictions, is a matter of pride. She emphasized that events like this symbolize not only the Forum but also the collective consciousness of the Baloch nation.
Dr. Shale Baloch further said that while the world has billions of people, only a few dedicate their lives to a greater cause beyond personal limits. Today’s gathering honored Banuk Karima, the Baloch daughter who devoted her life to the rights and freedom of the Baloch nation and remained committed to the Baloch struggle until her last breath.
The final segment of the program included an art exhibition and book stalls, where Baloch artists presented their artwork depicting Karima and the socio-political realities of Balochistan.
