Khuzdar: The families of Mumtaz Baloch and Ismail Jattak, who were enforcedly disappeared by Pakistani forces, have appealed to human rights defenders and civil society to raise their voices for the safe recovery of their loved ones.

According to the families, Mumtaz Baloch was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani military personnel on September 6, 2022, from Farooq Chowk, Khuzdar marking the third time he had been taken. It has now been over three years since his disappearance and no information has been provided regarding his fate or whereabouts.

Family members said they had approached local elders and influential figures in the area, knocking on every possible door of hope, but all assurances that “Mumtaz would soon return” have proved futile. They added that Mumtaz’s mother passed away waiting for her son’s return, carrying the pain of separation to her grave.

The family further stated that while they were still waiting for Mumtaz’s recovery, his brother-in-law, Ismail Jattak, was also forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces, deepening their grief and fear.

The relatives have appealed to the Baloch nation, human rights activists and humanitarian organizations to raise their voices for the immediate and safe recovery of both Mumtaz Baloch and Ismail Jattak.
