Islamabad: The Baloch Council has been staging a protest sit-in at Quaid-e-Azam University for the past five days against racial profiling, enforced disappearances, and the non-recovery of missing persons from Balochistan.
According to the Baloch Students Council Islamabad, the purpose of the demonstration is to raise a voice against the profiling of Baloch students and the ongoing cases of enforced disappearances.
In a statement, the Council said: “Through this peaceful protest camp, we want to make it clear that if our demands are not taken seriously, we will be compelled to intensify our movement, which could lead to serious consequences.”
The sit-in entered its fifth day today. Despite rain and constant pressure, the students vowed to continue their protest, saying no difficulty could break their resolve. “We will not step back even an inch because when survival and identity are at stake, resistance remains the only path,” they added.
The Council called on the university administration and concerned government bodies to address their demands and take notice of the alleged human rights violations faced by Baloch students.
