The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for an incident in Turbat in which police personnel were briefly held hostage and stripped of their weapons and equipment.
According to a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwhram Baloch, on September 5 at around 7 p.m., BLF fighters surrounded police officials in the Sari Kahan area using “organized guerrilla tactics.” The group claimed that the officers were taken hostage and their weapons, motorcycles and other supplies were confiscated. The police personnel were later released after being “warned as they were Baloch.”
The spokesperson described the operation as proof of the BLF’s “tactical superiority and operational capability in guerrilla warfare.” He further alleged that Pakistani security forces rely on local police to cover weaknesses and gather intelligence, but recent BLF actions had “rendered such policies ineffective.”
The BLF reiterated responsibility for the attack and warned police personnel against pursuing its fighters, stressing that as a “responsible Baloch organization,” it does not wish to inflict harm on fellow Baloch.
