Karachi: Baloch tribal leader Sardar Ali Muhammad Qalandrani said in a message on X that yesterday his son, Sardar Yosuf Qalandrani, was taken into custody by Pakistani forces in Karachi and forcibly disappeared.
Sardar Ali Muhammad stated that this is not the first tragedy his family has faced. According to him, fifteen years ago, three of his sons and more than thirty relatives were forcibly disappeared from Tootak, Khuzdar and have not returned to this day.
He said, “Today I am once again forced to live through the same painful nightmare. No father can bear the grief of handing over four sons to enforced disappearance.”
Sardar Ali Muhammad Qalandrani appealed to the media, human rights organizations and all conscientious voices to stand with him and raise their voice for the recovery of his sons and all other disappeared persons.
According to details, Yosuf Qalandrani was detained from Karachi last night in the presence of Sindh police and since then, his whereabouts remain unknown. His brother also confirmed the incident on social media platform X.
It should be noted that at least eleven members of the Qalandrani family have been victims of enforced disappearance over the past fifteen years, including Yusuf’s three brothers and other relatives.
