Pakistan a Colonial Remnant, Baloch Nation Will Not Give Up Freedom. BNM

On August 11, the Day of Renewal of the Pledge, the Baloch National Movement (BNM) held two small gatherings by Awaran Hanken, attended by party members and supporters.

Speakers highlighted the significance of August 11, recalling its historical background and paid tribute to martyrs who gave their lives for Balochistan’s freedom. They said the Baloch nation takes pride in its long history of resistance, a struggle built on the sacrifices of its brave sons.

The speakers noted that whenever a nation is occupied, it faces severe hardships. The Baloch, have always resisted foreign invaders and continue their struggle against Pakistan’s occupation. Throughout history, powerful forces such as the Mongols, Berbers and Mughals shed rivers of blood in this region, but in the end, those empires disappeared while the Baloch survived with their identity and struggle intact. Now, they argued, the Punjabi state has occupied Baloch land and resources for its own interests, but this too will eventually end through national resistance, leading to Balochistan’s freedom.

They recalled that when the British failed to capture Balochistan by force, they resorted to conspiratorial agreements, leasing Baloch lands and later violating those agreements to seize large areas. With Britain’s withdrawal in 1947, colonial rule formally ended, but Pakistan continued the same practices, acting as a guardian of British interests. Even today, they said, Pakistan remains a colonial remnant, occupying Balochistan and denying the Baloch their freedom and rights.

The speakers emphasized that the national struggle must advance with wisdom and awareness, not just emotions. They said BNM provides a political and intellectual platform for the Baloch nation and even Baloch fighters recognize it as their ideological front. With this collective strength, they declared, the Baloch nation will continue raising awareness against slavery and show the world that it will never give up its freedom.
