In a separate operation, based on intelligence provided by the BLF’s surveillance wing, fighters ambushed Pakistani forces on 16 July in the Gajro Kor region of Jhao. The ambush occurred while Pakistani troops were pursuing a BLF-seized ration vehicle into the mountainous terrain.
As per the statement, the ambush targeted troops riding three motorcycles, killing six soldiers on the spot, including Major Syed Rab Nawaz Tariq, a serving officer from Muzaffarabad, Kashmir. The BLF’s sniper team also fired upon backup troops from a distance, forcing the remaining forces to retreat.
Major Gwahram Baloch refuted Pakistani military claims that three BLF fighters were killed in the skirmish. He accused the Pakistani forces of fabricating such claims and warned that the military might retaliate by targeting forcibly disappeared persons or innocent civilians in fake encounters, as allegedly done in the past.
He concluded by reaffirming that the Balochistan Liberation Front claims full responsibility for the attacks in Kalat and Jhao and remains committed to continuing its armed struggle until the complete withdrawal of Pakistani forces from Balochistan.
