Hundreds of Baloch Students Forcibly Disappeared or Killed in Extrajudicial Actions. BSO

Quetta: Leaders of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) held a press conference on Thursday, strongly condemning the enforced disappearances of student activists and accusing Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies of systematic repression against the Baloch people.

Speaking to the media, BSO representatives expressed gratitude to journalists for attending the event and urged them to amplify their voices through print, digital and broadcast platforms. They highlighted what they described as a decades-long campaign of “uninterrupted oppression and state violence” inflicted on Baloch society.

The press conference centered around the recent disappearance of Ghulam Ali Baloch, General Secretary of BSO’s Mastung Zone, who was allegedly abducted in broad daylight on June 22 from Jinnah Town, Quetta, by Pakistani security and intelligence personnel. The organization also referenced a similar incident involving Aurangzeb Baloch, who was reportedly taken from his residence in Mastung last month and remains missing.

“Hundreds of Baloch students are being subjected to enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings,” said the BSO. “Political activists face harsh restrictions, while members of the Baloch Yekjehti Committee and other resistance organizations are detained under severe conditions with the aim of silencing national resistance through fear and coercion.”

BSO leaders declared that their organization has a long history of peaceful democratic struggle and has never bowed to state pressure or violence. “The BSO is a political and social school of thought for Baloch youth. Efforts to dismantle this platform through brute force have failed in the past and will fail again.”

They emphasized that the disappearances of Ghulam Ali and Aurangzeb Baloch represent not only a human rights violation but an attack on BSO’s constitutional and democratic right to organize. The organization demanded that, if there are any allegations against the missing individuals, they should be presented in a court of law and not held incommunicado in secret detention centers.

The BSO warned that if the safe recovery of the abducted student leaders is not ensured, the organization reserves the right to pursue all political and legal avenues, including launching a province-wide and national campaign for their release.

In conclusion, the BSO appealed to the public, political workers, human rights lawyers, student organizations, and democratic forces to stand in solidarity with them in demanding justice and the safe recovery of their missing colleagues.
