
In the latest wave of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, at least 10 individuals have reportedly been abducted by Pakistani forces from various areas of the province.
In Panjgur’s central market, Chitkan, Pakistani forces raided a mobile phone shop on May 28, detaining at least five individuals. Among the disappeared is Wahab Baloch, a well-known young businessman from Panjgur. Eyewitnesses say Wahab and four others were taken into custody and moved to an undisclosed location. The identities of the other four individuals remain unknown. Sources added that the forces vandalized the shop and seized several expensive mobile phones, worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
Meanwhile, in Turbat, the main city of Kech, a young man named Adnan, son of Tahir, and an employee of the police department, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces while he was shopping.
In Pasni, provincial president of Jamaat-e-Islami and member of the provincial assembly, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, stated that his cousin’s son, Muhammad, son of Nabi Bakhsh, was abducted by security forces and has since been missing.
In Quetta, two more individuals were forcibly disappeared. Sources report that Gazein, son of Shahnawaz Sumalani, was abducted from Shahrag, while Rabnawaz, son of Ali Nawaz Sumalani, was taken from the Khost area of Shahrag. Families of both victims have demanded their safe return.
Additionally, from the Essa Nagri area of Quetta, Pakistani forces and intelligence personnel detained Bahram Wahid, son of Abdul Wahid, a medical student. He remains missing since his detention.
These incidents reflect the ongoing and widespread use of enforced disappearances across Balochistan, sparking concern and calls for justice from human rights activists and local communities.
