Quetta (Shal): The hunger strike camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), now in its 15th year, 6th month, and 24th day, continues its peaceful protest for the recovery of forcibly disappeared persons. The camp, long led by Mama Qadeer Baloch with unwavering resolve, is now operating under new leadership due to his recent illness.
On Thursday, VBMP Executive Committee member Niaz Muhammad Nechari continued the sit-in in Mama Qadeer’s absence. Speaking to reporters, he stated, “Enforced disappearances are deep wounds on the body of Balochistan. As long as even one person remains missing, our struggle will go on.”
Niaz Nechari emphasized that Mama Qadeer’s 16-year leadership was not just symbolic—it served as a beacon of hope for the families of the disappeared. He urged the government to immediately release all forcibly disappeared persons, adding that this cycle of disappearances must end so that the people of Balochistan can live with dignity and peace.
