Quetta (Monitoring Desk) A high-level government delegation from Balochistan, comprising former Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Deputy Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani, and the Provincial Education Minister, visited the Lukpas protest camp today in an effort to initiate dialogue with Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
This marks the third official attempt by the provincial government to negotiate with the protestors. The previous two attempts failed, after which Sardar Akhtar Mengal announced a protest march towards Quetta on April 6 if their demands are not met.
According to sources, the delegation appealed for a peaceful resolution and attempted to hold serious discussions regarding the protestors’ demands. However, it is still too early to determine whether the talks were successful or not.
The sit-in, led by Sardar Akhtar Mengal, continues to demand the release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other detained individuals. Protestors have made it clear that the demonstration will persist until their demands are fulfilled.
Balochistan’s political situation is currently at a critical juncture. Analysts warn that if the protest march proceeds towards Quetta on April 6, the situation could escalate further.
Political observers suggest that all eyes are now on this pivotal meeting between Sardar Akhtar Mengal and the government representatives, as it could shape the future political landscape of the province.
