QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Naseeda Baloch, sister of disappeared brothers Sagheer Ahmed and Iqrar Ahmed, has said she will set up a hunger strike camp outside the High Court with her family if the two men are not produced or recovered this week.
In a statement issued on Oct 12, she said the brothers were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces near a checkpoint in Ormara on June 11, 2025. She said the family has received no information about their whereabouts or condition in the one year, four months and one day since.
“If my brothers are not brought to light or recovered this week, I will set up a hunger strike camp in front of the High Court with my family and sit there,” she said.
Naseeda Baloch said she had approached the state “at every door”, including the commission on disappeared persons, but had received no response. She said the High Court, where she has also petitioned, repeatedly adjourns hearings and gives a new date, and that she has still not been told where her brothers are or what they are accused of.
She said that if the brothers have committed any crime, they should be presented before the courts, particularly the higher courts, so that legal proceedings can take place under the law. “I am a Pakistani citizen and I accept the constitution of Pakistan,” she said, adding that she has a right to know the charges against them and their condition.
She also appealed to civil society, student organisations and others to support the campaign for the brothers’ recovery.
